Our top-floor signature apartment — bright and spacious, combining a sitting area, dining, and full kitchen, with a uniquely textured sofa and ceramic display niches. The separate bedroom has a study corner, LED TV, and a soft, comfortable bed.

Spacious 1-bedroom suite
A bright, spacious second-floor apartment with an open sitting area, dining, and full kitchen, plus a comfortable separate bedroom with mirrored wardrobe and LED TV. An en-suite marble bathroom and air-conditioning round out a relaxed, homely stay.
First-floor suite
A bright first-floor suite with a custom-made sofa, hand-crafted carpet, and parquet floors, plus a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bedroom with satellite LED TV, and an en-suite marble bathroom with bathtub. The adjoining Manaslu Plus room can be added when guests need an extra bedroom.

A bright, comfortable suite with a separate bedroom and study desk, an open sitting and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. A custom-made sofa, hand-made carpet, parquet floors, and a 40-inch satellite LED TV complete the space.

A bright, welcoming ground-floor suite overlooking the garden, with easy access to parking. Inside, a spacious sitting and dining area, a separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a generous bathroom — plus hand-made carpets, parquet floors, an iron, and a 40-inch satellite LED TV.

A peaceful ground-floor suite beside the stairs — the quietest of all our apartments, and an ideal choice for guests who value privacy. It offers the same full comforts as our other suites: a spacious sitting and dining area, a separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and an en-suite bathroom.

A cosy, great-value room with an air-conditioned bedroom and a private bathroom (no kitchen). On the second floor beside the Kanchenjunga and Lhotse suites, it makes an ideal extra bedroom for families or groups — and can be paired with any apartment on request.

Our two Plus rooms are flexible extra bedrooms you can add right beside a suite. Manaslu Plus sits on the first floor, next to the Cho Oyu and Dhaulagiri suites; Makalu Plus is on the second floor, beside Kanchenjunga and Lhotse. Each pairs naturally with its neighbours — and can be combined with any apartment — so your group spreads out in comfort while staying together under one roof. Karma Tara Residency is a venture by Karma Tara and family, bringing more than forty years of service-industry experience into hospitality. This was once the family patriarch’s first home in Kathmandu after he migrated from the mountains of Manang — and today it offers modern, multi-unit living while carefully preserving its original charm, welcoming guests from around the world since 2015.
Look closely and you’ll find that history everywhere: the handcrafted wooden door, the old pine tree, the stone walls, and the stained-glass stairways. They speak of the perseverance and hard work that built this home — and of the same care we now bring to welcoming you into it.

Arrive to a friendly face. We arrange private airport transfers at nominal fares — the rate depends simply on your group size and the time of day, with early-morning and late-night arrivals welcome. Just share your flight details and we’ll be there.

Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll pre-register a local SIM so it works the moment you arrive — the basic SIM is on us; you simply top up calls and data as you wish. Nepali law requires a passport copy and one photo to register, which we handle privately and use only for this.
